Affiliate disclosure

This site is free to read and is funded by commission. What that means in practice is set out below, in line with the Competition Bureau's guidance on disclosing a material connection.

Where the money comes from

Some outbound links to providers are affiliate links. If you follow one and subscribe, this site receives a commission from that provider. The price is identical whether you go through the link or type the address yourself.

What the comparison is built from

The prices, terms, channel and film counts and trial terms on the comparison page are the ones each service publishes, printed as published whether or not a link earns a commission. Every service carries at least one trade-off in its verdict, taken from those same figures, so a reader can see where each plan compares badly as well as well.

What commission pays for

Commission pays for writing and maintaining the guides and for keeping the published figures current when a service changes its prices or terms. It is the only way the site is funded.
